HAP40 steel from Hitachi Metals in Japan (now Proterial)
Handle: 7,449-year-old Danish bog oak and modern red oak
Brass balance pin
HAP40 is a high-performance steel alloy developed by Hitachi Metals in Japan, combined with Danish bog oak discovered by the National Museum in 1990 during the construction of the Great Belt Bridge.
The wood was dated to 7,449 years old in 2025 by Moesgaard Museum.
This ancient material, paired with its modern descendant, is brought together in a masterpiece that transcends both place and time.
This is a knife for a lifetime.
A laser. A workhorse. An heirloom.
