The last stone before the strop is #1150 in RICEKNIFE’s Beginner set, #3000 in the Chef set and #12000 in the Professional set. Jacob Bech finishes most of his own knives at #3000, which can be the final stage for a sharp working edge.
The #250 and #1150 sides are on RICEKNIFE’s plated diamond sharpening stone 250/1150. The #1000 to #12000 grits are on RICEKNIFE’s resin-bonded diamond sharpening stones, which you dampen with water and never soak.

Can I strop a knife without diamond compound?

Can I use the compound on other polishing equipment?
Yes, RICEKNIFE’s label says the stropping compound also works on other polishing equipment as an oil-based buffing compound. For knife sharpening, Jacob Bech uses the RICEKNIFE compound on a leather strop with edge-trailing strokes.
Do I need to buy the compound if I own a RICEKNIFE sharpening set?
No, every RICEKNIFE Dragon Scale sharpening set already includes one bottle of the 1.5 micron compound. Buy RICEKNIFE’s compound separately when the bottle from your Beginner, Chef or Professional set runs out.
