Rasmus Voulundwood with a past.
Rasmus Voulund is a Danish master carpenter known for Dansk Unika Håndværk, Danish one-of-a-kind craftsmanship: uncompromising work of the highest quality, made from historic wood. He works closely with Jacob, and the two are close friends.
Beneath the surfacelies the beauty.
Rasmus works with historic materials. He takes old construction beams and other old wood, removes the outer surface and reuses the remarkable material hidden beneath.
He has a direct line to materials taken out of old buildings across Denmark. Most of what Rasmus makes is truly unique, and that is exactly what he finds joy in: creating unique furniture and other craftsmanship from historic materials.
My joy is my urge to create, and to combine traditional furniture craft with historic Danish wood.

RICEKNIFE× Voulund knife magnet.
We make the knife magnet together. Jacob sources the powerful neodymium magnets and some of the rare wood, and Rasmus cuts the wood and builds each magnet by hand in Denmark. Jacob uses some of the same wood in the handles of his knives.
The knife magnet comes in two forms. In oak it is always available in 40 cm and 100 cm. From rare historic wood we make a few limited sets, each with a knife magnet and knives.
- Bog oak, 7,450 yearsFound during the excavations for the Great Belt crossing around 1990.
- Teak from the National BankOld panels and fittings removed when Danmarks Nationalbank was renovated. Saved instead of thrown away.
- 400-year-old oakFrom an old barn in southern Jutland.
- OakThe standard version in 40 cm and 100 cm.
Cabinets in woodand glass.
Rasmus builds some of the most beautiful wood and glass cabinets imaginable. Jacob uses them to display his knives across Denmark. You can see them here:
