Jacob and Shanru design RICEKNIFE from the very first sketch. Now and then we invite others into the work: an artist, a master carpenter and a smith who has stood at the forge since 1958.

After a break-in at the Hornsleth museum in Copenhagen V, Jacob came to know Kristian von Hornsleth’s art and his motto. From then on the decision was made: Hornsleth would paint the knives.

The project took six months. The result was seven one-of-a-kind knives: one of each knife from the 2023 series and one Aogami Joker. Casper Berg, drone pilot and friend of the house, engraved and filmed the knives. They will never be released again.

Rasmus Voulund · Master carpenter · Dansk Unika Håndværk
Rasmus Voulund is a Danish master carpenter known for Dansk Unika Håndværk, Danish one-of-a-kind craftsmanship: uncompromising, high-quality work in historic wood. He takes old beams and other old timber from buildings all over Denmark, removes the surface and reuses the material hidden underneath.
Together we make knife magnets, for example in 7,450-year-old bog oak from the Great Belt, teak from Danmarks Nationalbank or 400-year-old oak from a barn in Southern Jutland. Jacob uses some of the same wood in his handles. Rasmus’s wood and glass display cases show our knives at Løgismose, Bahne and MENY.
My joy is my urge to create, and to combine traditional furniture craft with historic Danish wood.

Hans · Smith · Vester Egede near Haslev
Hans began his apprenticeship as a smith in 1958 and has been forging ever since. For the past twenty years it has mostly been knives: hunting knives, kitchen knives and chef’s knives from the forge in Vester Egede, South Zealand.
